PAKISTAN: Denies Human Rights Violations

On 4 October, Sarjat Aziz, the Pakistani National Security Advisor, stated Pakistan was not oppressing people living in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, but instead accused India of  oppressing  Kashmiris. This statement follows Aziz’s accusation at the Annual Coordination Meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Foreign Ministers on 2 October, when he stated that India violated Kashmiri’s human rights and broke ceasefire agreements. As long as both nations continue to deny accusations made by the other regarding Kashmir, the diplomatic stalemate between India and Pakistan will continue.
